Engaging the World with Love:
The Practice of Outdoor Incense Offering (Sang)

Since ancient times, human beings have interacted with the sacred aspects of our world through the offering of incense and fragrant woodsmoke. In Tibet, the Outdoor Incense Offering ceremony (called Sang, or Lhasang) establishes a bond between the spiritual practitioner and his or her environment, with the incense becoming a method of offering generosity and beauty to the sacredness of the world. This workshop will teach the Tibetan Buddhist Sang ceremony called "The Sang Offering of the Mountains" (Riwo Sang Cho). Participants will learn the history of the ceremony, how to chant it, and how to visualize the offerings made to all the beings in the world. (Program is 90 minutes to 120 minutes in length)
